Bailey Callahan: Florida Native working towards being Nashville Superstar

I had an opportunity to sit down with Bailey Callahan in March. One of the things that we had in common was that we’re both from Florida. While I’m from the West Palm Beach area, Bailey grew up in the Orlando area.

She loves going to the beach, although she doesn’t get there as often as she used to because she lives in Nashville now. She stated in our interview that she had to get used to lake life because it’s not the same as being on the ocean.

Callahan has been in the music industry since she was eight or nine years old. It all started when she was at a Demi Lovato concert. She looked at her mom and said, “This is what I want to do for a living,” and so her journey began!  Her mom was supportive and said, “Let’s do it.” Somebody in her family was always on the road with her when she started touring at 16.

Bailey moved to Nashville as soon as she graduated high school, eager to get started. Everybody in the industry at the time was saying she should wait until she was 21. Bailey decided to do what she wanted, though. She thought that if Nashville wanted her, then that’s what would happen.

Her latest single is titled “Roll”. Bailey was going through a breakup and she had a writing session set up with Nick DeLeo and Nick Halsted. They had said, “We need to write a song like you’re just rolling through it, and that you have a positive outlook, and you’re standing strong.” She knew within 30 minutes that it was going to be her next single.

She wanted to make this song more age appropriate, but also wanted to continue to be a role model for your young Callahafans. She compared herself to Taylor Swift, saying that as Taylor got older, her material changed, and her fans had to adapt.

Make sure to watch the interview to find out what she thought about Florida theme parks. Her first rollercoaster was _________. It was at the Universal/Islands of Adventure theme park.

I met her in Nashville shortly after the March 3rd tornado hit. Check out the interview to see how close the tornado came to her home and some things she did to help. She also talked about how crazy Floridians are, so check that out too.
